Follow Horse Guards Road past the parade ground, where every June, The Queen’s birthday parade (or Trooping the Colour) is held to mark her official birthday. Pass the back of Downing Street, where the Prime Minister lives, to the junction of Birdcage Walk. There is a link route here to the right to Buckingham Palace, leading past the Guards Chapel (re-built since it was bombed in the Second World War), and Wellington Barracks. A panoramic panel was unveiled opposite the Palace to mark the Golden Wedding of The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, celebrated in November 1997.
